Can’t lose weight? If you have tried everything and still struggling to see the scale tip, something is definitely wrong.

Your weight loss problem is not occurring just because you are a weight loss disaster. It is not because you are just a glutton who gorges on plate after plate. Eating is a part of life and a necessary thing that must be done to sustain life.

So, lose your fear of eating and fear of being fat. I have been helping people who are convinced they cannot lose weight to lose weight for the past 25 years. I can help you lose a minimum of 5 pounds every two weeks. This may not seem like a lot, but that is 10lbs a month. In ten months, you will lose 100 lbs. If you weigh 280 lbs. on Valentine’s Day, by thanksgiving you will weigh 180 pounds. If you weigh 225lbs. on St. Patrick’s Day, you can weigh 125lbs. by Christmas. I hope that I have your attention now.

The key to successful weight loss is to lose a little weight at a time. Gradual fat loss is better than quick weight loss because your skin will not look saggy and you will maintain your weight loss for a longer period of time. Also, you will not have to perform any drastic dietary changes. Reading this article is just the beginning to a lifetime of freedom. I want you to stop watching those late night infomercials about weight loss. Turn the channel. Next, I want you to get rid of all unrealistic expectations.

Cure for Weight Loss Failure #1: Change your mind. Take the attitude of baby steps. I want you to conquer the day and not the world. I don’t want you to think about the next month or the next week. I want you to start thinking only about today. I want you to focus on what you are going to eat for today. I want you to think of what you are going to drink today. The reason that you have had so much trouble losing weight is because you have lacked focus. You either focus on all your past dieting failures or how good you use to look when you were 18 years old. Forget the past and forget the future. I only want you to focus on today. This will help you keep a positive attitude.

Cure for Weight Loss Failure #2: Start reading labels. I do not want you to eat any more processed foods. You can eat whatever you want to eat as long as the food is not processed. I am not going to ban you from eating, I just do not want you to eat processed foods anymore. Carrots, Green Beans, Kale, Chicken, Turkey, Pork, it doesn’t matter. Indulge.  Do not overeat, but do not limit yourself.

You can eat processed foods if you absolutely have to (i.e. you are on a roadtrip or stuck at an airport).  Do not wallow in guilt. Go ahead and eat. In those situations,if you can, I recommend loading up on water until you get somewhere that you can partake of real food. Processed foods contain chemicals and solid fats that cause you to become fat or stop your fat burning. It can be tough to do, but if you want to eat a chicken sandwich, you cannot eat sliced chicken meat out of an Oscar Mayer plastic tub. You are going to have to cook a real chicken breast and slice it up. Then, you are going to feed your body a real chicken sandwich. Your body will learn to gradually process real food and your body will reward you by shedding pounds.

If you eat processed cereals, candy bars, packaged meats, television dinners, or processed frozen meats, you are going to remain fat.  If you exercise and eat junk, you are going to remain fat. Your body is not a landfill and your mouth is not a dump truck. It is simple; Garbage in, garbage out. Before you eat anything, I want you to read the label. If the food you want to eat has all natural ingredients, even if it a chocolate candy bar, eat it. However, if you pickup a bag of frozen meatballs from Sam’s or Costco and the label does not include a list of any real meat, do not eat it.  This is going to help you lose more weight than you know.

Cure for Weight Loss Failure #3: Get Madagascar Fever. If you have never seen this children’s movie, you need to watch it. It has a great song that says “I like to move it, move it.” If you are serious about your weight loss, you need to move your body more. If you currently feel like you move your body a lot, I am going to need you to move it a little bit more. There are some natural supplements that you can take to boost or multiply the effects of your workout. I recommend taking a multivitamin made by Alive and an appetite suppressant made by Bioneferin called Hunger Arrest. If you are a stay at home mom and have 2 to 3 kids, there is no need to buy expensive gym equipment. I want you to incorporate movement and not exercise into your life. I don’t want you walking like a lab rat for 30 minutes in place. I want you to incorporate movement in your real life.

For example, every morning I want you to walk to the mailbox. Do this for the first week. The second week, check the mailbox in the morning and in the afternoon.  I want you to start doing choirs around your house. For example, on Monday, vacuum the house this will work your back, shoulders, arms, and waist. On Tuesday, scrub the bathrooms. The scrubbing action will help your arms, knees, and chest. On Wednesday, clean the refrigerator and dishwasher. And on Thursday, continue cleaning and walking around your house. Adding in life activities will increase your movement on a daily basis and can be done at any time. Adding movement and not exercise will allow you to keep off the weight for good.

Cure for Weight Loss Failure #4: Give yourself one vacation day per week. It can be any day of the week that you like. On this day you need to relax. If you like reading, then read. If you like watching movies then rent 4 movies and watch them back to back.  If you like eating, then checkout a recipe book from the library and make some healthy small meals. In order to lose weight, you have to reduce your stress levels. High stress levels led to enormous amounts of hard belly fat. Belly fat does not come solely from overeating; belly fat can be triggered by stress hormones and chemical imbalances in the body. This is why incorporating relaxation into each week is so important.

If you follow these simple steps, you will begin losing about 5 pounds every two weeks. Although, this seems like a little bit, as the months go by, your dress sizes will continue to drop and you will become happier and healthier. There will be no need to do Weight Watchers or order Nutrisystem. You will be able to fit into smaller sizes gradually, lose weight naturally and it will not cost you a fortune.

    okay, so I know almost everything there is to know about losing weight effectively. I love to give advice to people on how to lose weight. Am I in good shape? Hellz no! I am 50 lbs overweight and 21 years old in college. I know all this stuff about losing weight, yet I cannot apply to myself. Why am I not strong enough to do this? I can barely resist eating. I love food so much. Taco bell, pizza, quesadillas, hot pockets, cola, the list goes on. I am addicted to food, I eat when I’m not hungry because I crave the taste of it. I have asked for the strength to resist these temptations but to no avail. It seems hopeless that I will ever be average weight. I dont’ need weight loss advice per se…I need ways to become strong enough to resist my strongest temptations…any suggestions?
    I should mention that I do get up off my butt and try to stay active, I’m not that lazy, it’s just that the amount of calories I am able to consumer is far more I can burn off at my activity level, in the shape I am in, I can’t do extremely heavy workouts, in fact running hurts my legs, any kind of weight training will deal a lot of pain, right now, I basically try to walk a lot, because it’s basicall what I can do right now without noticing bad side effects.

    You need to go to therapy to find out what the underlying cause may be. it has to be more than a craving…maybe a hormone imbalance or something medically or mentally out of whack. you need to start exercising and eat fresh fruits/vegies, berries and fiber when you want to eat the junk food. occupy your time with reading, walking, hanging out with friends, etc. attend church. having God on your side always helps.

    I have a few medical conditions that prevent me from exercising as much as I would like and I take medication that makes me put on weight.

    I have put on a little bit of weight lately and just wanting to get rid of it but have tried cutting down on fatty foods etc and exercising more but nothing is helping!!

    I want to lose 20 – 30 pound by the beginning of November. I need to know what foods to eat. I will be going and walking/running everyday after school as well.

    I’m 5’9 i have a large body frame. I weigh somewhere around 190.
    The healthy weight range for my height is 150 – 170.

    you need to do 200 minutes of cardio a week. Remember fat does not turn into muscle, so you need to lose your fat while putting on muscle. The 45 minute thing is not true, but don’t over 60 minutes at a time.

    Do 5-10 minutes of cardio to warm up, then do your weight training. Do 30 to 60 minutes more of cardio, then go home.

    The best time to eat is just after your workout within an hour when your metabolism is raging. For your muscles, incorporate some isolated soy protein or whey protein. Whey is more potent but the soy tastes better!

    Don’t look at your scale as the be all and end all, but get a measuring tape to check your progress, and that will show more tangible results.

    well i have hypothyroidism and its hard to lose weight-and i recently got the depo provera shot and since then i have gained twenty pounds-i cant really workout alot cause i had knee surgery and i havent regained full capability of my knee-so i cant run an di cant do much-i am on levothyroxin for my thyroid, occassional combivent-and i am a college student and i work like one day a week for five hours-what weight loss pills or supplemens would you suggest?

    Get off Depo. It is dangerous and completely messed my hormone levels up. I was having menopausal symptoms at only 23!

    When I switched to a different birth control the weight started coming off on its own…

    Diet wise, you know, no junk. no processed food.

    * Instead of having 3 large meals in a day, have 5-6 small meals. Make sure to keep a gap of 2-3 hours between two consecutive meals. It will help speed up your metabolism and result in burning of more calories. Have protein, carbs & fat in a 40/40/20 percentage.
    * Drink at least 8 glasses of water in a day. The more you increase your water consumption, the better it is.
    * Never ever skip meals or eat too less in order to lose weight. It will only make your metabolism slower, resulting in an even slower burning of calories.
    *check out this site to determine how many calories you need daily to sustain you weight – then eat less.

    Check with the gym trainers on food supplements like whey protein.

    Now I know you want a quick fix, too, and a pill that helps burn fat. Try Hydroxycut. Worked for me, but it’s not cheap & can wreak havoc with your system.

    That said, there’s a cardio training regimen called High-intensity interval training (HIIT). You sprint & walk. Can take only 15/20 minutes a day, 3/4 times a week. It is the current best way to raise your metabolism & burn fat. Here’s a site that describes it in detail.

    Weight Loss?
    I Had a child on June 28th. I am 5’2 and the day i had him i weighed 195 lbs ( i gained ALOT OF WEIGHT, i started out 130 lbs!) i now weigh 150 lbs. I go to the gym 4x per week i do 30 mins of cardio per day. I only drink water and i eat healthy. Any ideas or supplements people have tried with results. I have 20 more pouds to lose!

    i forgot to put that i have a personal trainer. I dont just do cardio i have a reg. workout routine too. Hiowever Ive been stuck in a rut i havent lost any more weight in a month

    You seem to be doing good!

    The basics to losing weight is really so simple.

    Burn up more than you take in.

    So, eat healthy; like you’re doing, and drinking a lot of cold water.

    Exercise as oftn as you can. Weights are ok, but more cardio.

    Don’t eat fried foods. Don’t use butter/margerine…that kind of stuff. Stay away from dressings and the ‘fatty’ stuff.

    Your stomach will shrink and you won’t feel as hungry. You have to train it the way you do anything with your body. I think you’re doing great. Keep yopur food portions small, eat a little more frequently maybe, but keep the overall intake low.

    I did fatloss4idiots diet plan and I lost about 50 pounds in not even 3 months. And I’ve kept it off for almost 2 years now. I found it to be the easiest diet because it pretty much told you what you could and couldn’t eat and you didn’t have to count points or anything like that. What I lost really isn’t typical for the amount of time I did it but I know others who have done it and they got really good results from it as well.

That said, how much weight loss would cause me to have sagging skin? Is there anything I can do to avoid having saggy skin after I lose this weight?

    Don’t just lose weight, also define your muscles (pilates helps for that and it doesn’t make you look bulky). I think you would have to lose a lot of weight at one time for your skin to get saggy.
