Thank you to all who entered the Cooking with The World According to Eggface Giveaway
Football season is in full force. My Facebook and Twitter newsfeed are filled with smack talk and team rivalries. People really take their football seriously. I have gone to a few games but I must admit my favorite part was always the tailgating before the game. Unfortunately, game day spreads are often full of greasy, carb-laden, not so healthy choices. Embracing a healthy lifestyle doesn’t mean you have to give up fun activities or your resolve. I had an opportunity to create a couple of game changing game day snacks using Blue Diamond Almonds.
I have always loved to cook. It’s my creative outlet. I was scared that having weight loss surgery would put an end to my days in the kitchen but happily it did not. I actually get to be even more creative by analyzing a favorite recipe and seeing where I can make changes to make a healthier version of a pre-op favorite. Fall has finally arrived in Southern California (fingers crossed we’re below 90′s for a few months), I am more willing to turn on the oven and heat up the kitchen so I will be spending more time doing what I love. Yay! I’m celebrating this…
Foster Farms gave me the opportunity to try out a new product called Sauté Ready. It’s a really awesome new product and will become a new pantry staple at my house. It’s marinated, pre-cut, and frozen all natural chicken breast pieces. They cook in about 10 minutes and go directly from freezer to skillet, with no thawing required. Perfect to keep on hand for quick and easy meal. You can have a super healthy: low fat (98% fat free) and protein packed (21g protein/serving) home cooked dinner on the table in minutes. This is the kind of “fast food” I like.
